There’s nothing average about our eclectic mix of delicious eats. So tasters, get excited. Coming Summer 2020, The Garage food hall welcomes two new global cuisine goodies: Azucar Morena and Furious Spoon.
Azucar Morena

Mouthwatering and out of this world (well, at least the Midwest)—welcome, Azucar Morena. Showcasing authentic Venezuelan eats, owner Andreina Paredes Angulo invites visitors to discover her culture and taste each region’s unique flavors and seasonings.
Hailing from Venezuela to Indy in 2015, Andreina works alongside her two children, Juan and Matilda, in this brand new concept at The Garage. But Andreina is no stranger to operating a business. In Venezuela, she channeled her passion for connecting with others by running her own landscape company and built vegetable gardens. Now she’s ready to share her love of food and present traditional Venezuelan fare to Indianapolis, and eventually the world.
Arepas, the signature dish, are healthy, all-natural and gluten-free air-fried corn pancakes with your choice of delicious meats, cheeses, and vegetables. With so many flavor combos, no two arepas are the same. They also serve a lineup of fresh-pressed juices sure to jumpstart your energy. And with daily and weekly specials, there’s something new to try every day.

Furious Spoon
Chef Shin Thompson is a man ahead of his time. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he moved to Japan as a young boy, where he grew up sampling traditional Japanese food. But ramen was always his favorite, and he dreamed of running his own ramen restaurant like his grandpa someday.
The problem? At the time, ramen had a bad rap in the States. So Shin flexed his chef muscles in fine dining until America caught up with his vision. Now with seven Chicago locations, Shin and co-founder Anshul Mangal are ready to elevate ramen in their first Indy location.

Featuring daily made-from-scratch noodles, Furious Spoon cranks up the sophistication and complexity of this popular dish. One of Shin’s favorite ramen dishes is Tan Tamen, so he created his own (called Holy Cow) with a spicy, chili-based oil. A rotating menu means there’s always something new to slurp. And Furious Spoon’s fun atmosphere, complete with a signature selection of hip hop music, gives visitors an extra reason to smile.
The time has come to enjoy leveled-up ramen. The days of eating microwavable noodles as a poor college student are over. Furious Spoon will change the way you view ramen for good!

It’s not just about the food, but also the atmosphere and little details that transport you somewhere new. Even simple touches like Wooden Table Signs can play a role in setting the scene. They add warmth and character, making the dining experience feel more intimate and authentic. I’ve noticed that unique table signs can even start conversations or help set the tone for the meal. So, when a restaurant goes beyond just the menu and considers these elements, it truly elevates the experience to something memorable.
